History

Initiated through efforts of K.S Eshwarappa, MLA, and Nidige village leaders N T Rangappa and Rudreshappa Gowda, Government High School, Nidige was sanctioned and started in June, 1996. The school started off as a primary school with 3 teachers and 4 class rooms and functioned till 2010 in the building where the Government Higher Primary school is currently located.. The student strength increased rapidly and in 2010 the new building was constructed on a sprawling 5 acres campus. This 2 storey building had 7 classrooms. Further enhancements added 1 more classroom and 1 washroom.

In 2020, a concrete approach road to the school was built with grant from the MLA funds. The school has been performing well consistently in the SSLC examinations from 2010 onwards.
