History

Established in 1998 as Government High School Agara, with 28 students and 1 classroom. Within a year, the student strength quadrupled to 111 students and by the year 2000, the school had 132 students and a building with 6 classrooms.

The growth trajectory of the school continued and another building was added to accommodate the growth to over 750 students. In 2018, when the Karnataka government launched their initiative to create school complexes, Government High School Agara became the first school, along with Government Primary school, Agara and PU College, to be nominated as Karnataka Public School.

This was a novel concept mooted as a precursor to the New Education Policy which was rolled out in 2020.
