Bal Utsav is responding to the massive Landslide in Wayanad, Kerala
On the early morning of Tuesday, 30 July 2024, a series of catastrophic landslides struck the hilly regions near Meppadi in Kerala’s Wayanad district, resulting in significant loss of life and widespread destruction. More than 400 people have lost their lives, and many others are still feared trapped following massive landslides triggered by heavy rains in Kerala’s Wayanad district. The scale of the disaster is staggering. In response to this devastating tragedy, The Disaster Response Team at Bal Utsav has activated its Emergency Response protocols and deployed a team that has begun Operation Dayitva – Wayanad Floods Emergency Response.’
We are working closely with officials and locals in Wayanad to assess the needs of the affected communities and plan both short-term relief support and long-term livelihood restoration and rehabilitation.
We are committed to standing with the people of Wayanad during this challenging time. We will continue to work tirelessly to provide the necessary support and assistance to the affected communities.
