The school is located in Kachinakatte village, about 15 kms from Shivamogga city centre. The school is a part of an upcoming urban community which has significant agrarian presence. The Shivamogga Airport shares a common boundary wall with the school. This community will greatly benefit from the development of the Shivamogga airport.

History

Government High School, Kachinakatte was sanctioned through the efforts of K.S Eshwarappa, MLA and Sri Sathyanarayana, a prominent member of Kachinakatte Village. The school started functioning on 7th July 1996 with 50 students and 4 teachers, sharing the school compound of Primary School building Kachinakatte village, using 2 classrooms.

In 2001, under a new scheme of Karnataka State government started, the school was rechristened as NETAJI SUBHAS CHANDRA BOSE GOVERNMENT HIGH SCHOOL and the new building of this school was constructed.

The school salutes its teachers for ensuring a healthy pass percentage of 95% in SSLC over the past decade.
