Around 400 government schools in Tamil Nadu will soon get a ‘smart’ facelift with Bal Utsav, an education-based NGO, announcing its foray into the State. The NGO is set to provide internet-powered classrooms in schools across South India, through its flagship programme — iShaala.
A total of 21 companies with 30 teams, 62 fundraisers and more than 1,500 donors are competing in the race to support 10 causes. Software professional Namitha Acharya is running on Sunday to raise funds for her favourite NGO. “For the last six years, I’ve been running the 10ks and half marathons to raise money for Bal Utsav,” Namitha said.
